BALTIMORE -- Longtime television news anchor Vic Carter will be departing Baltimore's WJZ-TV in July.
Carter says it's bittersweet to part ways with the station he's called home for nearly 30 years. He has spent over 40 years in television news.... Vic Carter will officially leave WJZ on July 25. [more of the story at link]
I rarely watch TV news but he’s always seemed halfway decent
Local TV news is a declining business. Can’t afford to pay these guys anymore.
Yes, a neutral presentation. Seems like a nice guy.
I met Carter at a Ravens' game and spoke to him very briefly. He is completely unpretentious and very much like his on-air persona. I wish him well.
Great story! Thanks for posting.
In the swamp of local MD media personalities, which I admittedly haven’t paid a lot of attention to in recent years (especially after cutting cable and local tv about 3 years ago), his is a recognizable and friendly face. Always seemed like a decent guy, despite working for a See-BS news affiliate.
It’s possible he may being going to a more visible slot, due to his acquaintance with the new governor. I have met a few of the gov’s A-A appointees through military events, and there are some good folks with solid backgrounds, like West Point, etc.
