Sabotage is always possible. Aircraft carriers are massive, complex ships with large crews and many vulnerabilities. That said, turbine engine sabotage would require access to highly restricted engineering spaces and expert knowledge. Design defects and shipyard incompetence or defective materials seem more likely. For decades, the Navy has been blighted by poor shipbuilding design and build practices.

Sabotage? No doubt. Either ships crew or the nnsydd workers. Btdt. Seen nnsydd workers do damage to navy vessels under ovehaul. Either due to being forced to work overtime (omg!) Or just assholiness.
