With a zillion contraception products on the market it amazes me that abortion crosses anyone's mine, except in extreme cases i.e. rape, incest, etc.

Who would want to undergo an abortion when you can take a pill three weeks out of the month, or use a diaphragm, sponges, IUD, Norplant, condoms, whatever?

In the 60's when the original "The Pill" was approved, 35% of women were contraindicated for its use.

Later, when they were testing Depo-Provera, they decided that rather than a stand-alone, zero baseline, they would use "The Pill's" 35% as the baseline, and allowed an additional 35% contraindication. (Thus, 70% of women experiencing negative effects was deemed acceptable.)

Now they don't even pretend to care and place all patients at risk without proper medical oversight.
