7s are hard (I’m an engineer), so is remembering a list of words 15 minutes later!
I’m as far from being an engineer as one could get but I’m pleased to learn that I’m not alone in having problems with remembering items given to me some minutes before.
I just looked at the MMPI and I was wrong in a later post - I think it IS the one that Trump says he’s taken (maybe several times) but the one I’m thinking of with the hands on a clock is simply tests for measuring cognitive impairment...
I knew I kept an article from years back from Johns Hopkins Medicine - “Guide to Understanding Dementia.” I knew I had it in a binder and had to look for it but at least I remembered it - it’s from 2012....
It was the first year I saw the changes in my husband. We were driving down a city street behind a county or city utility truck and that truck pulled off to the side of the street and my husband followed and parked behind him. I asked him what he was doing and he said, “You’d do the same thing” and I said, “I don’t think so.” How many times did I hear, “Do you want to drive?” It’s funny now but it wasn’t then.
I think there is something about driving that is the beginning of noticeable cognitive problems - forgetting where they’re going or how to get home - I have heard it so many times from different people. My husband’s reaction time on the road was very different from prior years..We drove all the way from CA to GA when we moved and that wasn’t an issue on that long trip but it popped up 6 years later...
