There's a sea turtle sanctuary in South Florida called Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. They rescue sea turtles, especially during breeding season where the turtle babies share the beach with tourists.

That delicacy has been superseded by iguanas. They are everywhere in South Florida. No need to hunt them. Haven't eaten one, but they are on a lot of restaurant menus.
