What is so tough about a salesperson ringing up your ammo purchase?
They do not record your ID and facial scan.
Yet another way to ID all the gun owners.

Regardless, it smacks of a government data collection effort to me, nuanced as a “cheaper, more convenient method of getting ammo.”

I always said that ATF should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

I prefer the pre-1968 method. Same I used today to buy 200 rounds today. Walk in, chose your ammo, pay and walk out.
We used to be able to buy all firearms the same way till Dec 1968.

‘Murica!!!!
Seriously, as long as ID is verified, why not? He’ll, they should start selling cigarettes in vending machines again (and I have never been a smoker). It’s just another product. For that matter, do it with booze. Then you’ll have the ATF store

We have pharmacies and gun stores combined advertised as Drug and Gun and Pistols and Prozac... Gotta love it.
Local store had a back to school sale listing clothes, boots, guns and ammo. The way America should be.

There is a small convenience store in Autaugaville, Al (outside Montgomery) that sells Alcohol, Tobacco, and firearms. Gotta love that.
