Yeah, that and the Chicken Gnocchi Soup are pretty good. We don’t care much for the entrees.

Another knock off we like which no one outside of So. Kal. will know about is the Northwood Inns purple cabbage salad recipe. Purple cabbage, vinegar based.

In 1961 I wss in DC for several weeks and stayed at a large group of rooming houses called Hartnett Hall in NW near the embassies. They had a pretty good dining hall which served the best potato salad I ever tasted. It leaned toward red in color, suggesting paprika which it prolly contained. I’ve searched for a recipe that could produce something similar. No recipe I’ve seen calls for ingredients I feel this one might have had. I’ve reasoned that because this was DC, the salad must have been of MD or VA origin. Any suggestions.
