I live in NE Oklahoma, and let me tell you, Tulsa sucks.

Dirt roads... bad schools, ignorant Oklahoma people with guns, more churches than Walgreen's, horrible "grocery stores" that have green baloney and other nasty uh, stuff in the butcher department. One can smell it when one walks in.

Zero culture, no symphony orchestra nor art museums. No place to shop and buy clothes except for one JC Penney store left over from 1974.

Had a big race war in 1921, (called a massacre now) and nothing racial has changed since.

Pretty much the last place in the US you'd want to allow your kids to move to, frankly.

Detroit would be much better.

Not a joke.

The pustule that was California has burst and is sending it’s infectious ooze all over the US. Colorado has fallen, now New Mexico.
They are now moving in on Oklahoma. Soon they will be demanding in Oklahoma the same California rules and regulations that they fled from there. Can the other FREE STATES be next?

I guess he or she never heard the song "You're the reason God made Oklahoma" ("There's a full moon over Tulsa...").

Great song but the casual listener might come away thinking that Tulsa is in Cherokee County.

My mother moved to Tulsa on Dec. 7, 1941 (she heard about Pearl Harbor from the cousin who drove her to the train station), but I don't know how much she paid for rent.

Check the weather. Tulsa is one of the most miserably hot and dry places in the summer I have ever been and that includes most of the world. Besides that, the place is falling apart and mostly crime ridden. Just another shitty. The 10 grand thing is a stupid thing to do. Tulsa was already a liberal outpost. I call I-44 the St. louis Extension.

Prices are even higher now in California to rent a place.

A co-worker and his wife moved from Thousand Oaks, Calif to Eugene, Oregon in 2021. Thousand Oaks is consider a nice area about 30 miles from Los Angeles. It is dry and hot in the summers with added brush fires....
Eugene is surrounded by forest and lakes and rivers.

His comment from Nov 2021:
“We were paying 2.3k to rent a 2 bedroom apt. Wasn’t nice by any means. Out here we’re paying 1.3k for a 3 bedroom house to rent.”

Tulsa is safer than 2% of American cities.
