Good for the kid....media always reporting these child prodigies, but I am not sure if they always pan out...
He may have photographic memory, or hyperthymesia memory or semantic memory...so we are just hearing about that skill...how it integrates into his life and accomplishments is yet to be discovered.

It seems that John von Neumann might have been reincarnated. If so, I’m glad that he came back as an American.

I agree. We will hear more of him in the future. Bet he will not be living in a tent on the sidewalk.

Best wishes to him and his family. Learning math and physics is a good thing. And of course, learning math and physics is not the only good thing.

How old are they now?

Both were transfers out of Junior College. The younger (FR PowerBaby) was valedictorian of the College of Agriculture and Animal Sciences of Utah State at the age of barely 20, while running on the track team and serving as a TA. She got her PhD in pork production. The older (FR NattieShea) graduated from Stanford in Biology. She completed her PhD in a tripartie symbiosis between plants, fungi, and bacteria at Michigan State. She fell in love with an older leftist user while in grad school. He ruined her. We haven't talked in years.

How is he at absorbing the DEI, ... , etc.

Maybe his brain if full of the periodic table and physics, and no room for the propaganda.

Will the ‘truth’ of the Universe’s physical laws protect him?

The only thing he is going to learn there is how to be a very bad person.

That is similar to how things were in the time of the Founding Fathers. John Adams and John Quincy Adams graduated from Harvard at 20.

In Britain there was a long tradition of leaving school at 14 or 16. John Major left school for good at 16 and ended up Prime Minister.

Kudos, little man, if you weren’t just singing the Tom Lehrer song.

I forgot just about everything I learned in high school. I hated school. It was like a prison sentence. College was fun but filled with useless courses and time (money). Anything valuable I know I learned on the job.

When you heat about kids going off to university eight years early it seems like they miss a lot of being a teen.

Football games, having a girlfriend, school plays, homecoming dance, etc.

What’s the hurry?

“Could you (do a brake job) at age 12?”

Nope, 15 for me, but I suspect you understand my point.

"Sad. Let him be a kid."

Everyone gets one childhood. It should be enjoyed because when it's over, it's over.

I didn’t even know what the periodic table was when I was two. And there were probably only 50 or 60 elements in the table then.

These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard
And there may be many others, but they haven’t been discovered!
