I don't know. They must salvage the D down ticket. There would be open rebellion among the rats if the DEI token were to be brushed aside, regardless of whatever backroom deals might make that happen. I'd be most concerned the power brokers are begrudgingly accepting a Trump win, and are "fortifying" the machine to derail his administration, or otherwise lock him into protruded legal battles, hampering his ability to change the nation's course. They're basically considering a throw-away ticket with some hope for the W. And of course a loss here could be damaging to future political aspirations, which is why I argue Gruesome et al aren't going to ascend this cycle. Anything is possible, but this seems most plausible from my limited vantage point.

I have heard other interesting theories, e.g. holding onto Biden until the last possible moment to thwart an RFK Jr take over of the party. If that were true, they'd have a plan (I assume), or perhaps they really don't and are just that terrified of an RFK Jr "infection" of Rat politics.

Interesting and possible. The main fear they would have is that Trump could overcome most roadblocks they would be putting up. Which would work for our side. We live in interesting times John. Thanks for your thoughts on this issue.

Agree! They’ve done it before (Se first Trump administration.) and probably think they can do it again and be more effective.
