OK, well if it was the end of Sotomayer’s quote, there is nothing wrong with saying end of quote.
The problem is he did not say “begin quote” at the beginning so he was just reading the teleprompter without understanding what he was reading.
I would agree if he started with “quote”. If he didn’t, then that’s a problem.
So what about when he walked past a Marine detail and said, out loud, “Salute the Marines.”
So many genuine screw ups by this guy no need to make them up.
