What’s really impressive is how he’s maintained the ruse for over four years! I mean there’s not just the slurred speech, the empty looks, the garbled gibberish, the catatonic freezes - we also get the stumbles up the stairs to his plane, the wandering off to nowhere in his public appearances, the flop off his bicycle - and on and on and on. No wonder DeNiro is so impressed with him!
LOL! He’s such a great performer, that he should be given an honorary membership in the Screen Actor’s Guild.
I find that impressive too. He probably practices stumbling going up airplane stairs. I think this is his way of acting — because he is an actor — and he delights in duping people. Especially people who think he is stupid for having low marks and being at the bottom of his class. He is clever in a wily way. Duping and lying to people makes him feel superior. And he gets the sympathy vote from many people for his apparent illness, which nobody really knows for sure. So I think under it all he gets a chuckle at the stupidity of the American people.
