It's not stupidity. It's intellectual laziness. People just want to be entertained and fed. Bread and circuses. Little intellectual curiosity. Acceptance of what pop culture feeds them.

Thumbs and fingers on their phones the vast majority of waking hours. Instagram. TicTok. Inane television shows. Inane ‘music’ with lyrics that could cause any legitimate English teacher to have a seizure.

Smart enough to program their cell phones and to order any number of things from Amazon or Instacart, but too lazy to use think about things that really matter.

You've nailed it in a nutshell. Too many people can't pry themselves away from the cell phones long enough to think about the problems destroying this country.

Imagine the outcry if something happened to disable their phones for an extended period of time.
