There is a photo going around of a couple of Bald Eagles with a nest full of babies. Looks so super cute... except the babies are miniature adults. Not with scarce dark feathers like when they really are babies.
Seems so sweet but even if you know what a baby Bald Eagle really looks like, the pic looks manufactured.
There is an extended sequence during the last Indiana Jones movie that used AI to digitally de-age Harrison Ford so it looked like him in his early forties. It looked pretty good (about the only thing that WAS good about that movie) but even so there was telltale artifacting that cued you in on it being digitally manipulated.
Will it ever get so good that it becomes impossible to tell a fake image or video from a real one? To be honest, I don't know. Makes one wonder what kind of tools will be needed to indubitably distinguish them apart.
