An individual who is believed to have purposely butchered the national anthem at a Pittsburgh Pirates game has been taking heat after controversially changing the words to the patriotic song.
The performer altered the words of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ before the game, changing “and the rocket’s red glare” to “And the rocket’s blue glare.”
Needless to say, Pittsburgh Pirates fans were not best pleased.
“At the :50 mark. This is totally embarrassing and self-important. This guy — Bethany Hallam’s boyfriend — sang the anthem last night at the Pirates game and changed the lyrics to “…and the rockets’ blue glare ….,'” one wrote as they reposted the video.
“Everything is a political statement with these goofs. Everything. Everything is a joke and viewed by these goofs as a chance to push their silly agenda. Just sing the song. Goof.
“And here comes all the “it was just an honest mistake!!!” people who build an identity on self-victimization. We aren’t dumb, Save it.

Smug, fat marxist punk.
Commies get my blood hot.
what does the black T-shirt say?
Until everybody is free???
Of course, he had an agenda.
He shouldn’t be singing the White National anthem anyway. The Africans now have their own NFL sponsored National Anthem. Fatso should screw that one up.
KTMF!
“From the shores of Long Island,
to the San Francisco Bay,
and everything between them is our home.
We might have done a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves,
but you outside people best leave us alone.
‘Cause we’ll all stick together, and you can take that to the bank,
Ask the cowboy, and the hippee, and the rebel and the yank...”
Love that song.
That story has been circulating on the Internet for years, but it's complete Bull-loney! American patriots who love the National Anthem should learn the real story.
When Willie Nelson sang the National Anthem at the 1976 Democratic National Convention, he left out the lyrics about the rockets and the bombs. At the time, I had never heard of Willie Nelson, and from the way he was dressed, I figured he was some hippy they had dragged off of Skid Row.
