I was taught you spell out numbers ten and below. Eleven and above you use the numerals. It does look weird in one sentence.

I've never heard that rule.

That is the “AP Standard” for writing as well.

The reason it looks weird is because it is wrong:

“If two or more related numbers are used in a sentence, one below 10 and one a bigger number, their use should be consistent. They can either be spelled out or written as numerals.“

Yes, what you said about numbers. I saw another example today (of ages being listed correctly, like this). Some kind of journalistic miracle....
