Electricity is used to run machine tools.

Ukraine is fighting for its very existence.

It is reasonable to assume that Ukrainian electricity and the machine tools powered by electricity are being used for military production purposes to the maximum practical extent.

Until the 1930s, millions of Americans lacked electricity.

You cannot compare a people living in a time without electricity and during the time of transitioning when all the pre electric household goods and work and heating equipment, habits, experience and methods are still in place, to generations later when all of the old stuff is gone, the wood burning kitchen stoves and and hand tools, and the wood boilers and so on, and the stores that still sold parts and contraptions that you needed.

Living in your non-electric farm house designed, built, and equipped in 1880 during the 1920s is a lot different than going to your great granddaughter’s apartment or tract house in 2023 and removing the electrical panel.
