The Florida Panthers made history Monday night in front of more than 19,000 fans at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, beating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 to win their first Stanley Cup.
As expected, Game 7 was a hard-fought contest with both teams going toe to toe throughout the game.
Panthers' Sam Reinhart and Carter Verhaeghe scored goals, Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves.
This time, they were on the right side of history — after avoiding what would have been a historic collapse. The Panthers won the first three games of the series, then lost the next three and needed a win on Monday to avoid joining the 1942 Detroit Red Wings as the only teams to lose the final after taking a 3-0 lead in the title round.
It wasn't easy. Not even close. But it's done. It took until the very end for the Panthers to deny Connor McDavid his first title, and Edmonton what would have been its first Cup since 2006.
A great game. ESPN coverage is abysmal. Ray Ferraro never shuts up, not even when the puck is dropped.
Well, to be fair, Miami does have lots of ice for making beach drinks.
Well, I guess there’s that.....LOL!
Professional sports companies had their players give outright public displays of support to such Communists, and while some companies may have posted support on their website, patrons weren't walking past kneeling simps on their way into the store.
Customers may find themselves without much choice when purchasing items and end up having to patronize such a store but no one needs to patronize professional sports. Turn off the TV and throw out the apparel or admit that you'll support Communists instead of overcoming a childhood addiction to televised sports.
There’s just something about a team from subtropical Florida winning an ice hockey tournament in the summer just doesn’t feel right ... then again, maybe it’s just another effect of “global warming”. Cheers!
Liberal dope alert. WTF does that even mean, "right side of history"?
Gee, I dunno, I heard it on Daily Kos... But it does make me sound so perspicacious, dontcha think?
Just a heads up,. I don’t knowingly make false claims.
It was figuratively, do you really believe that my intent was literally 90% of industry/instiution have knelt?
I’d prefer if they just did that instead of funding it.
In the meantime you’re rationalizing the virtue signaling via a telecom that is most likely all in against us, on equipment from the same like minded surrounded by 90% of life from the same boat. Yet us sport’s fans seem to be the only ones that need reminders.
Personally, I’d never allow these idiots to dictate my entertainment choices. I get the counter opinion. I also get that it is not that far away from words are harmful leftist grievance nonsense ie if one feels a need to be offended, plenty of offensive material exists.
Yes, because we don't see people posting here to cheer on Target, Gillette, or Transheuser Busch, yet fans of professional sports that bent the knee continue to post on Free Republic of all places, conveniently pretending the league doesn't support outright Communist organizations such as Black Lives MatterTM.
