That would be more effective (and evil) than just creating a state of suggestibility. Demonology is a wild field, and while I tend to be super skeptical about all things supernatural, the bible certainly supports it. A powerful demon could answer debate question with a great deal of guile and even give him the appearance of a charisma. ‘Hypnosis’ could be used to open him up to a demon by suggesting to him that the demon is actually good.
