Same here. I get sticker shock nearly every time now. Even (or especially) for fast food.

Two 12 ounce choice ribeyes, two beers, and two salads at home are about $25 and there’s no tip. I’m not paying $100 plus tip at a restaurant.

On the other hand, the local food trucks are pretty cheap and pretty good for lunch. A hot dog and a soda at Costco are $1.50.

Inflation is forcing people to cook their own meals. Fortunately, I learned to cook my own meals in 1969.

My wife and I went to watch the College World series game today. Two meals and two beers. $68 before tip. I tipped the young girl well in cash. So I spent about $80 bucks for bar food and a couple of beers.

Tear the whole system down, then build back better if there is anything left.

Popeye’s ten piece family meal on the app at our local restaurants is $25.99 (with two large sides and five biscuits). I basically never order anything except with an app deal now. And supply my own drinks whether eating in or out. If they stare at me I stare back.

And with the typical $18 restaurant wage here I don’t tip, period.

I was guessing $55.

<=$40 is my price point.

We don’t eat out much anymore.

We don’t have to worry about prices at Denny’s in Colorado. The State seized all of them several years ago for back taxes. Countless jobs were lost. The buildings have fallen into severe disrepair and will probably have to be torn down. Way to go Colorado! One would think that a better solution could have been crafted. But then, Colorado has been taken over by Democrats so it’s par for the course.

Heck. I went to a local restarant today and got a bowl of soup, a bread roll, an Iced tea, and a glass of water for $10.80, not inlcuding the appropriate tip.

You're not being specially treated, my FRiend. It's the prices that have been COVID-19 infectiously bloated, not the custimer.

Twice what I thought. Shows how long it's been since I went to Dennys.

they call it country fried because people today think chicken fried steak has chicken

Just came to that same conclusion earlier today.

Rip off.

A couple of months ago I made a rare trip through the Taco Bell drive-thru and got two small items—hardly a meal. No drink. It was over $10. Haven’t been back since.

However, a month ago I went with two other adults to a Japanese Sushi and Steakhouse that has a robot bring your food, and we had 3 regular entrées, non-alcoholic drinks, and an appetizer for under $60 before the tip. A pretty good value.

It seems to me that the economy is making “cheap” places too expensive, but there are still places that are reasonably priced for what you get.

The waitress said you know it’s not chicken.

I once ate at a restaurant that offered "chicken-fried chicken" on the menu.

generally we don't order drinks at restaurants, except once in a blue moon, which is also my husbands favorite beer...

went to Golden Corral for the lunch...at 11am the price goes up by $3 each.....note to self....come at 1045....price was $16.50 as I recall, senior rate...still too high IMO>

My wife, son-in-law and daughter went to a local Mexican restaurant yesterday after church, it was $56 before tip.

That’s reasonable for 3 people. A few years ago, $15 per person was the norm; now, it’s $20 or more.

Hopefully the food was great!
