I could not agree more.
What i think is not terribly important but Burgum is unknown to me and many in the thread last night compared him to Romney!!
Burgum is an out of touch elite-ist pretending to get it.
And he doesn’t bring Trump a single vote that Trump doesn’t already have.
Agreed on all counts and let me add, the Deep State would fear Vance at least as much if not even more than Trump. Ergo, they would never try anything if Vance were the running mate. If it were a RINO stooge like Tim Scott or Marco Rubio however, Trump would be dead within a year. These people will stop at nothing to maintain their power and their positions.
His biggest plus would be as President of the Senate when the pubbies take it back.
Other than that I see him as a bit polarizing to the majority who do not follow politics except from Oct. to Nov every 4 years. There Tulsi Gabbard might have an advantage.
Trump’s polling advantages now will disappear as the election gets closer. He really needs every single ballot he can win.
Will read the article later, but the headline should read: Whoever wants to be vice-president should run with Trump.
Some Harvard guy from Cincinnati pretending to be a hillbilly.
And I don’t want to see an Ivy League LAWYER anywhere near the White House.
Read Vance’s background. A military guy and Ivy League lawyer is exactly what the “Deep State” wants in a position of power.
You’re right.
Yale, not Harvard.
You’re also right - same difference.
I’m leaning towards Dr. Ben Carson. I think he proved his loyalty during President Trump’s first term, and being born in Detroit, he would give President Trump an excellent chance to win Michigan.
I was just thinking the same thing. If The GOP let him be a Senator chances are he’s not the one we need.
“If The GOP let him be a Senator chances are he’s not the one we need
Very logical.
If we were voting on who has the prettiest eyes, he might the guy. But we’re not. He’s the guy who has viciously trash-talked Trump for years. If he’s PDJT’s pick, then Trump is beyond stupid.
I sorta-kinda agree, which is why I want Trump to take him, because I don't want him representing me in the Senate. Vance is a phony, or to put the best face on it, naive on so many levels, most notably macroeconomics and foreign policy. He had his seat bought for him by Peter Thiel, and that's the only place where his loyalty lies. I too don't trust him any farther than I can throw a Buick. Supposedly pro-Trump, (he wasn't always), but the first thing he did when he landed in DC was to kiss McConnell's....aah....ring. The veep slot is perfect for him; he does good photo-ops, and he can be Trump's attack dog during the campaign. Once in office he is essentially powerless, and AFAIC that's a good thing.
“I’m leaning towards Dr. Ben Carson.”
Agree. He might be the only one who appreciates who Trump really is. Seems like a small incident, but BC has mentioned the debate where Trump politely waited for BC to go on stage, while Jeb, et al., breezed right past him.
I know that doesn’t qualify him for the VP spot, but if unwavering loyalty to PDJT is important — which it is — I think he’d get it from BC.
Nope. Leave him in the Senate where he is needed more. Besides, he does nothing to build Trump’s base.
“Some Harvard guy from Cincinnati pretending to be a hillbilly.”
Right. I seem to recall some scuttlebutt about Vance’s book where he went all “aw shucks” hillbilly and misrepresented himself as one of the little people. Much like Lunchbox PedoJoe “from Scranton”.
I’m going to give Trump some latitude for deal making with the sorry GOP and oligarchy. I wish we had a party that actually represented us.
