I visited the Queen Mary last month and you wonder if they could restore and preserve this ship in the same manner (hotel and restaurant and tours).

So Long Beach saved the R.M.S. Queen Mary, but Philadelphia can't save the S.S. United States? The City of Philadelphia wastes money on many things. It's comes with big government. Surely if the City doesn't buy the ship to keep it in its port, it could give the ship the abandoned "Chicken Pier", which is better than having it be a homeless camp. Sad.
