I had a full head of hair until I was about 55. Then it suddenly got thin. So I got an electric clipper and gave myself a buzz cut.

I can't believe I waited that long.

I love it. No fuss, no muss. It looks clean and feels great.

I think a lot of men would love it because it's manly...but it takes that first step.

/sigh   I was in the USAF.   The buzz cut in Air Force Basic was enough for me.   They called us "Pingers" in our "pickle suits" because if you ever got a chance to stand still for a minute, you could hear your hair go ping when it finally it popped out of your scalp.   I'd rather have a Ben Franklin than having to shave my head.

My younger brother had a career in the USAF and is a total chrome dome now.   It really jacks me up though when I comb my hair the same way it was when Dad combed my hair for Sunday school in the late 1950's, but now suddenly it is a comb over.   Come to think of it, I've had my hair down my back a couple of times through more than fifty years and my brother never did.
