I’m amazed at the amount of people who can’t swim but go near deep water.

I’m having trouble with the phrase “highway patrol dive team”.

Or who can swim but jump in with clothes (more than trunks or a bathing suit) on.

(I once got PUSHED (kind of a joke) in with heavy work clothes on and had to be pulled out, and I was a pretty good swimmer.)

I suspect hypothermia.

Water temps in the lakes here in the mountains are already 80 degrees...

Oklahoma’s Lake Thunderbird 3 days ago was 85.

Then hypothermia is not the reason.

Where I live our lakes and rivers are fed by ice melt. They remain cold throughout the year. In the lakes, only the top 6 inches warms.

I’ll guess that alcohol was a factor.
