My father, who was in the Air Force was transferred to Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts in the mid fifties. As a grade schooler, we went to public school in Billerica MA.
We started every morning at the public school with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lord’s Prayer, and sang The Battle Hymn of the public (mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord).
What a change in our culture!!
