It’s amazing that what they taught me in High School Civics, is now treated as crazy. Up is down and down is up.

Just think of all the mis-information we got 50 or 60 years ago as children. Stupid things. Such as: ONLY citizens have the right to vote. ONLY citizens have legal rights under the Constitution. Illegals are ALIENS and ILLEGAL. You have to be native born to become president. Stupid things like that. Puts Simon and Garfunkel and all the crap we learned in high school in a different light.

Such confusion about something so fundamental as our form of government can only be intentional.

I thought we were or are a Republic at heart. Certainly not a democracy. Going further, a Constitutional Republic and going further, add federalism. We elect representatives and we have an elected president and not a monarch or prime minister and so we are a republic. I'm not so sure about not having a monarch these days though. If we are a democracy why in hell's name are we led around by the nose by a bunch of elected representatives who now answer to nobody? They only play like it when it is time for election. If this is a democracy it is being done all wrong. It has been so morphed, confused, falsified and further mischaracterized I don't know what the hell we have become other than a failure.

I went to HS from 1983 to 1987 and back then, civics class (freshman year) taught that the USA is a “representative democracy”. I haven’t asked anyone what year the change was made, but this lie goes back decades.
