There is no space agency or astrophysicist who says the Van Allen belts are like a microwave oven. They are low level radiation only, and easily traversable. An astronaut could spent as long as two weeks within them before getting sick, with only a little shielding. The idea that they will fry you instantly is just one of the false arguments made by moon landing deniers.
It was Van Allen himself who said that the belts are deadly with limited exposure.
Then he was given a “talking to” and he recanted.
Meanwhile no human has gone all the way through and past the belts in the last fifty years.

Sure, if you take off from the North and South Poles, you can avoid the brunt of the belts. However, the belts are absolutely not low radiation. Worse yet, outside the belts is high solar and cosmic radioactivity. I know why Captain Kirk’s women were always green. They were dying of radiation poisoning!
