The child may have sat down in the middle of the trail. It looked like the trail was a straight path offering the biker plenty of time to slow down and stop if needed. The child could have been injured or suffering from some physical ailment and had to sit down. The biker had enough time to stop, ask what’s going on and realized it was the typical unpredictable things kids will do; even with the most skilled guardian.

Mr. Mercat just got back for a ten day bike ride. He doesn’t ride on bike trails, he’s always courteous and always yields to pedestrians. Not all bike riders are jerks but yes, a lot of them are.
