That said, history is full of surprises. If the left solidifies its grip on power and gives people no peaceful options for change, what other choices have they really left our angry and very well-armed population?"
I'm happy to see the "our democracy"™ caught on. It encapsulates the hypocrisy and tedious repetition as if it were a magic phrase to blind people to what is going on.
As far as the age of revolution being over, some wiser souls (and obviously very insurrectiony to the Left/Deep State) than I said it best:
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
“People are too wedded to their lifestyles, safety, and sense of powerlessness to do anything other than vote and then shrug in the face of stolen elections and creeping tyranny.”
The inertia of complacency ends when one’s existence is threatened. Uncivilized barbarians defeated the disciplined mighty Roman legions. The Warsaw ghetto revolted against German troops despite the futility of the resistance. The Viet Cong and Taliban resisted, fought and outlasted the “invincible” US military. When people are starving, or they see the tyranny of the state about to snuff out their lives, they will take whatever risk is necessary to have a slender chance at survival.
And that time does seem to have come.
