As an ex-Japanese camp inmate I find the Doolittle raid the greatest military achievement that affected my life. After the raid, Japanese occupiers became less arrogant and more humane because they knew that some day will come a time of reckoning. Midway was the first time for us to gather hope in the future. All the news was by rumor and word of mouth because listening to the radio was a certain death sentence by the Kempeh Tai.

My uncle was in Santo Thomaso in the Philipines. Where were you?

WOW! Thank you.

You’re right I wasn’t going back far enough. Midway was the greatest military upset in history.

Have you read this book, about the Battle off Samar Island?

I get goosebumps just thinking of what these men accomplished, against the greatest odds in Naval History. And the writing is first rate.
