The comment not only indicates the case / jury deliberations were discussed inappropriately, but also that they were working to specifically get a conviction.
But of course, the judge will rule something along the lines of “While the outside discussions were inappropriate, they are inconsequential to the verdict.” The fact the case ever came to trial and was not given a directed verdict of not guilty after the evidence did not indicate any crime occurred, and pretty much he instructed the jury to convict Trump, certainly don’t see him doing the right thing here and declaring a mistrial, even though it is clearly warranted.
