Thank you so much for posting. Grade schools need to collect as much of this testimony as possible and pass the history down.
Why should grade schools all gather this information? People who are older have the means to collect oral history.
I do some genealogy and have oral histories that were taken in the 50’s and transcribed. They have so much valuable information. I have been trying to track down the woman who married Charles Comiskey the baseball player from Chicago. She was an ancestor. The oral histories have been invaluable.
Ask your older relatives about what it was like growing up and have them tell you about their aunts and uncles. It’s incredibly helpful trying to track down the family tree.
