For all the people think the Democrats has set a precedent.
No they haven’t. They’ve done this before.
Has everyone forgotten Tom DeLay, the Republic House Majority leader? He got charged by a Democrat DA from Austin, also over some trumped up campaign finance law, was convicted, forced to basically resign from his position as House Majority leader and congress, sentenced to 5 years in jail.
Conviction later overturned.
But the Dems got what they wanted, which was DeLay out of his position and humiliated, and you wonder why the 2nd term of the Bush presidency the Republicans completely laid down for the Dems.
They’ve done this before and they’ll do it again unless the Republicans show them there is a price to pay for all this.
