Idaho man was roughed up by a bison after kicking it while drunk. Attention Florida Man: You have a challenger!

I read a Thomas Sowell reflection on the passing scene that went something like:
Modern humans like to brag about how smart they have become because of technology, but no one had to warn a 19th century farmer out on the planes not to mess with a 3000 lbs animal that can run at 30 mph.
I’ve tried to find the specific quote but have never been successful.

On our Yellowstone thread mocking these idiots, they are called Tourons.

So it’s open season on humans then since humans act viciously for no reason. I’d rather respect an animal’s defense of it’s personal space than excuse a brain dead tourist who acted stupidly.

“They believe what?”
“They believe if they ride bikes it will change the weather.”
“Bwa-ha-ha. Really?”
“Yep. And they piled in a car and drove for three days just to see us, and that water that’s too hot to drink.”
“Incredible.”

Serice with a smile!
When I saw signs in Yellowstone National Park warning visitors not to get too close to a buffalo, I realized that this was a warning that no illiterate farmer of a bygone century would have needed. No one would have had to tell him not to mess with a huge animal that literally weighs a ton, and can charge at you at 30 miles an hour.
No one would have had to tell that illiterate farmer’s daughter not to stand by the side of a highway, trying to hitch a ride with strangers, as too many college girls have done, sometimes with results that ranged all the way up to their death.

We were leaving Yellowstone several years ago, when my then 7YO grandson complained “I’m bored.”
Moments later, traffic stopped, as a bison was walking on the other lane in our direction. It passed within several feet of my car…I got a great video of it. We didn’t make a sound.
Shortly after he passed by, my grandson proclaimed “Opa, I’m not bored anymore.”

Im entirely against that. They barely fit into the booth and always mark the boxes so sloppily that its difficult to guess who they were voting for.

It’s not every day you run into bison in South Carolina. But the general “large, temperamental, ornery, mean, man-killing and man-goring animal” rule still applies.

With a serious case of eczema like that, no wonder he’s a bit fussy.
