If I were LAPD, I’d be looking for another job in a rural part of the state. Many that graduate from the Police Academy apparently do just that. Thankless job - lots of cuts in the past few years due to “defund the police” (although I believe this is starting to change).
Cops on my local radio program complain bitterly that they’ll pull in a guilty perp - only to see him back out on the street within hours - so why bother - we have a criminal-friendly DA, George Gascon, who doesn’t believe in “cash bail” and has put an end to it.
if you’re a cop in california you shouldn’t have to attend a 24 week academy to transfer to another Cal jurisdiction. This saves the hiring department thousands of dollars and they get an experienced cop.
WHY stay in that state?
Other states with rural areas would welcome trained officers.
