A (late) friend was a published science fiction author. He found himself seated next to George Takei at a book signing table at a “con”. My friend had few customers, George had many. No surprise. So he had the opportunity to observe ... George was extremely gracious with all of his fans from beginning to end. The man has filthy personal habits and political opinions I find reprehensible, but he at least knows how to be a good “celebrity”.
Used to be that celebs were gracious to their fans, whatever their personal lives were like.
After all, it was the fans who gave them celebrity in the first place.
