Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame offensive lineman Larry Allen died suddenly Sunday while on vacation with his family in Mexico, the team announced Monday.
He was 52.
"Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected, accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL. His versatility and dependability were also signature parts of his career. Through that, he continued to serve as inspiration for many other players, defining what it meant to be a great teammate, competitor and winner," the team said in a statement.
"He was deeply loved and cared for by his wife, Janelle -- whom he referred to as his heart and soul -- his daughters Jayla and Loriana and son, Larry III. The Jones family and the Cowboys extend their deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the Allen family and grieve along with the many other friends and Cowboys teammates that also loved Larry."

Allen was only on one of the three 90s Super Bowl teams.
Gene Upshaw. Zach Martin.
We’ve had a lot of men his size (obviously not same talent) over there past 25 years that haven’t dropped dead like he did. If he didn’t get inoculated by the mRNA poison I’d be surprised.
It’s really paid off too! 30 years without a Super Bowl appearance. Great finds all over!
This was true for Landry. Jimmy J. was an amazing draft analyst but since then, they have been mediocre, getting great players one year, then whiffing the nest.
Larry Allen was 1 of one.

A tearful Emmitt Smith on the sudden passing of Larry Allen:
“My heart is just broken. ...We need to make the best out of every moment and not take people granted.”

I stand corrected, for some reason I thought he was on the other SB teams.
The other day someone said it was the vax. It ended up suicide. I get the thrill and hope that comes from vax. But can’t we wait until the official death report comes out. Patience is a virtue.
Guilty until proven innocent with respect to all things COVID related. Whatever medical conditions one has the jab exacerbates them. If they don’t want the scrutiny than report the cause of death. By the way, patience is not, strictly speaking a virtue.
Absolutely one of if not the best O-Linemen to EVER play the game. Could have continued to play if he wanted. Lost a bunch of weight and was healthy. Wonder if he got the shot. Could have been other things. RIP ALLEN..
By the way, patience is not, strictly speaking a virtue.
lol. I always heard it was. Another wives tale?
I could be wrong but I think he had lost ALOT of weight and looked really good. But no telling if he had the vaccine. And people that are young and 325 pounds and benched over 700 pounds are special. I think he was only 6 foot 3. Actually not sure of his weight. It was his team mate Nate Newton that had the big weight loss. Still a great guy. Emmitt Smith does not have his career without him.
Troy Aikman probably had his career extended by 4 years because of Allen.
“The article had his complete biography except for one thing.....why he died. 🤷”
Yes it did, he died of unexplained suddenly.
Not just Aikman. Frank Gore-49ers. He was a good one for us-2 years.
Only 52. The shot or Mexico? We’ll find out.
How dare you ask that. The next thing you know the usual FREEPERS will be bringing up waxxxxxxxine status. And then the thread will go to questioning "safe and effective."
The gubermint told everyone to get in line, take the injections and we can get life back to normal.
Life is getting back to normal. Normal people are dying and less than 1/2 of the normal number are being born. You'd expect things to change somewhat after the incredibly deadly scamdemic. In a few generations with less than 10% of the population surviving this decade, life will be much better for those whose parents and grandparents did not get in line.
Like I say, if I’m starting a team it’s Zach Martin, Jim Otto, then Allen.
Sorry, I meant Gene Upshaw.
Martin has ONE holding call in his career. I think the number of QB pressures attributed to him are under 5. Allen took a year to figure it out, then was great. Obviously, we won’t count the Conference Finals where he had a badly sprained ankle and battled like a warrior, but lost to his man.
I’d add John Hannah.
Part of the reason Emmit Smith was a fantastic running back.
May he RIP.
The Cowboys will never win again until Jerry and his family are gone.
