You might think so but we had three black bears killed by vehicle strikes within a year in our area a little while back. Lower Michigan.

About 5 years ago, I saw a black bear corpse by the side of US50. About a quarter mile down the road was an 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder. Front end was messed up a bit.
