I’ve been through 4. One in Alabama and three in North Carolina.

I was also living in the Outer Banks when the 1991 nor’easter went through. It wasn’t a hurricane but was in many ways the worst.

The floor of the pine tree forest around the house I lived in was moving like waves on the ocean.

I’ve been through 3 hurricanes, 2 in Florida, one in Texas, and too many tropical storms to count, maybe even some Cat 1s that I’m not including. My family still in FL have been through many more, though. I’m mostly out of the way, so I’m the person everyone checks in with to let everyone else know how they’ve fared. Every year, it’s a big deal when one is barreling right for them. Lotsa prep, lotsa cleanup. I think the worst for our family was Irma. That was a really destructive storm.
