[has nothing to do with you.

Of course, you’re right because “it’s just a dog”, and “not your dog.”

Every rural and suburban street has a Fluffy, usually hanging out with children. The dog acts as a barrier between idiots and nature and the neighborhood children.

Sorry that you don’t have a good dog.]

From the story, the dog was unaccompanied and appeared to be rabid - it was walking around in circles. The owner showed up after the fact. Who leaves a deaf and blind dog free to run around outdoors unleashed? Never mind getting hit by a car - it can’t even detect, let get away from aggressive dogs and other predators.

So what exactly was the dog doing to appear to be rabid?? Walking in circles? Did you not read that the dog was blind? There are typical, easy to see signs when an animal has rabies. The idiot cop should have gone back into his car and call the squad team for backup. Scary to think that cops like that are supposed to protect you.

Riiiight. It was a neighborhood dog. For years. Not a stray that no one didn’t know.

But whatever it takes to make everyone feel that this was a normal response.

Could have been a stray child, deaf, riding a bike in circles, that wasn’t listening to Police officer
I’m generally supportive of law enforcement. If he thought the dog was rabid, you use a snare and capture the dog to diagnose rabies by pathology on an intact brain, so we are to assume the officer knew that, rendered the animal with a gut/chest shot, and then put gloves on to collect the carcass for necropsy.

Yeah, that didn’t happen. He killed a neighborhood pet.
