Trump 1.0 mistake was to not fire all people subject to political approval. I seriously doubt Trump 2.0 will make that mistake again. Everyone gone, new MAGA blood. That could be as earthshaking as his Supreme Court makeover.
At bare minimum he should have gone after those exposed in illegal activities against his campaign (i.e., Strzok and Page).
I suspect he expected some loose sense of “honor” with his political opponents.
Its pretty clear that his defense team knew a conviction was likely and have been working on their next moves.
