Tax hikes to give Russia fiscal headroom to further increase spending

Russia's proposed tax hikes for companies and the wealthy, which may add an extra $30 billion to next year's budget revenues, will allow Moscow to further ratchet up spending, including on its war in Ukraine, without compromising fiscal stability.

The finance ministry insists the tax hikes, proposed on Tuesday, are fair and target Russia's wealthiest. It says tax changes should solve national problems, reduce inequality and help develop Russia's regions.

The changes will cover President Vladimir Putin's more than 11.5 trillion roubles ($128 billion) in infrastructure and social spending pledges for his new six-year term, analysts say, without requiring a reworking of Russia's budget rule.

Increasing taxes when you already tax like modern countries do never works long term. Maybe not short term either.

Putin doesn’t get it.

Advanced “Democracies” don’t actually try to win their wars. and advanced “Democracies” don’t actually tax to pay for wars.

What you do is borrow and print in order to fund the MIC in never-ending futile no-win wars.

That’s what real “Democracies” do !

Tax hikes give Russia a headache- funny, take some aspirin. Ukraine has been decimated, 500,000 dead, cities in ruins, economy on life support, electricity grid destroyed, currency destroyed, male population gone….an aspirin doesn’t cure all that destruction.

Because sucking billions out of a closed economy is always a good thing. It doesnt work here. Not sure why anyone thinks it will work there.

“Putin” says he’s “reducing inequality” with his soak the rich tax hikes.

Once a commie, always a commie.

Putin should just declare the Soviet Union is back and confiscate everything for the war effort. Why bother pretending that he’s not a Soviet dictator?

PING!!

The flight time of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile to the capitals of states supplying weapons to the Ukronazis was calculated:

1. To 🇨🇦Ottawa – 850 seconds.
2. To 🇩🇪Berlin – 106 seconds.
3. To 🇬🇧London – 202 seconds.
4. To 🇺🇸Washington - 995 seconds.
5. To 🇫🇷Paris – 200 seconds.

That is 16½ minutes for us.   I actually think I might have an hour or two before I'm dust in the wind, because although I'm eight minutes from a Air Base with a MAJCOM, it isn't a critical one and might be hit on the second wave.

Whatever the case, I'll have a split second to curse these Zeepers, to upside down 7734.

Or faster if it comes from one of Russia’s 11 Atlantic-based nuke subs.
