Candidates sometimes die or suffer incapacitating events very late in the game. This happens in every election. Every state has laws on late replacements in, say, a city council or mayor’s race. The point is, this situation is routine — just not at the presidential level — and the rules are what they are. Let the chips fall where they may.

Once in awhile a dead person gets elected.

The hardest of hard deadlines is when absentee ballots are mailed and voting actually starts. Take that date and back it up for a couple of weeks for ballots to be printed and distributed to the right polling places. Remember that the local races are different from place to place so this isn’t a cookie cutter exercise. It takes some care.

Biden is manifestly unfit. A “medical emergency” could be declared at any point. But once past the last switch point, the ballot couldn’t be changed and voters would be voting for KH because the prez and vice are elected as a ticket.

The only out would be a write-in campaign. That MIGHT be beyond the capacity even of the democrats’ drop box system.

Please point out where in the Constitution you see anything about “Presidential elections”.
