A couple of years ago, United started bragging about developing the most “diverse” group of pilots ever. They didn’t say so, but I suspect they apply the same mentality to their maintenance personnel.

A couple of years ago, United started bragging about developing the most “diverse” group of pilots ever. They didn’t say so, but I suspect they apply the same mentality to their maintenance personnel. Airlines have had problems for years getting capable maintenance workers to work for low pay and terrible hours. Subbing out the work to Didn't Earn It (DEI) firms wasn't to give "disadvantaged persons" opportunities, it was to give United excuses for poor performance.
