RIP, Bill.

He was a big Grateful Dead fan, to his credit.

His 1973 NCAA FINAL against Memphis State was an absolute clinic, where he shot 21-22 from the field, and his one miss may have been the easiest shot of them all.

His 1977 NBA Final was also a clinic, when his Blazers won the last 4 games against Dr J & Co. BW was the Finals MVP.

All true. But one of the greatest games was the semi-final against NC State with David Thompson, who blocked one of Walton’s shots.
