Explosion seen in the sky after Japan issued J-alert due to projectile launch from North Korea
Video was shot by NHK in Liaoning Province, northeastern China.
The North Korean missile had a malfunction and exploded, according to current media reports
North Korea will act up here soon I think .. this may be the first step

Interesting. It looks like a liquid fuel burn, but the fuel and oxidizer are stored separately, so that would be an unlikely accident that allowed them to mix and provided a source of ignition.
There is a counter measure that ballistic missiles can take to confuse radar called “chuffing” where after final burn they pump any extra fuel out as an aerosol to make an expanding cloud of droplets. I wonder if that was an attempted chuffing, but they forgot to omit the oxidizer?
