I guess the winds changed.
Did you see that? Now I know, Richard Sherman and his brother are the ones who wrote the (infamous earworm!) song
“It’s A Small World After All”.
I love the Sherman brothers works, but “It’s A Small World” is an earworm as infectious as bubonic plague. It’s specifically mentioned in the latest updates to the Geneva Convention.

A time far gone. Thanks for the memories.
Ah but “Feed the Birds”, what a beautiful song. Wonder if they did “ Hush-a-bye Mountain” too
Mary Poppins (1964} was 60 years ago. Walt died shortly after in 1966 at age 65. He would be 122 now.
Man has a dream and that's the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true for you and me
So there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away
Yesterday′s memories may sparkle and gleam,
tomorrow is still but a dream.
Right here and now,
you've got it made.
The world′s forward marching and you're in the parade!
Now is the time.
Now is the best time.
Be it a time of joy or strife.
There's so much to cheer for, be glad you′re here.
For it′s the best time of your life.
They wrote some wonderful music. As young children, my siblings and I nearly drove my parents bonkers by playing yhe soundtrack of Mary Poppins over and over and over.
It reached a point to where, while the four of us were at church, one of my parents must have “disappeared” that LP, because it was never seen (or heard) again.
Yes,I am of that age too.
The man did Aristocats, Snoopy Come Home AND Tom Sawyer too?! Good Lord... he had far more impact on my child hood than I realized.
Godspeed good sir and rest assured that you were and are far more talented than anything Disney has put out in decades.
Genius songwriter with his brother.
Yes, they did “Hushabye Mountain” too. Beautiful songs. R.I.P.
Small World has to be the most disgusting ear worm ever recorded.
But Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was one of the most fun to sing when you are a kid...
Those guys were prolific as all get out. I had no idea how many songs they did that had an impact in our lives. Disney was magic back then. Its a zombie shell of what once was great.
Condolences to family and friends of Richard Sherman. Very talented individual contributing to the greatness of America.
Inevitable, I know, but I’m so sorry to hear this. I saw him as a surprise guest in a Charles Phoenix retro culture event in downtown Los Angeles at the Disney concert hall years ago. He played the piano and singing it’s a small world as he originally arranged it, a very slow version that was so much more meaningful than the puppet theme it’s known for.
You’re right, that was written by the Sherman brothers, too. Both are beautiful songs.
It seems as though some of the songwriters for musicals are blessed with very long lives.
“Let’s Go Fly a Kite” was one of my faves.
