I saw The Beach Boys live in concert at UGA Athens, the Coliseum. They did a long version of Jumping Jack Flash. They were great. What they played May have been a version of the Bangladeshi concert sponcered by George Harrison. At any rate they boggied. Great Concert. Early 1970’s.

Pet Sounds was a truly landmark album. And it has stood the test of time. They are more than just a SoCal surf band, although they are a bit of that too.

I saw the Beach Boys perform in 1966 or 1967 thereabouts at the Lagoon amusement park north of Salt Lake City. They were performing on a small stage elevated about 3 feet from the floor we were dancing on, only feet away from us. One of the Beach Boys was so drunk he fell off the stage. I’m not sure which one it was that fell, but I think it was Dennis. I enjoyed their music, but frankly, I was more interested in the pretty long-haired brunette I was dancing with.
