When I was a kid in the 50s and 60s, we were always afraid of being sent to “Reform School.” We never heard about the place, where it was located, or what it was like there. But the fear of being sent there was enough!

I don’t know if “Reform School” was ever a real educational institution, but the fear of it worked.
