This. The cop committed perjury. That's why the city is trying to bluff their way through this. Very large civil liability exposure.

When cops lie to you, they’re praised and rewarded for engaging in good investigative technique.

If you lie to the cops (or innocently make a mistake, or even make a true statement that the cops disagree with), you get prosecuted for a felony: lying to the cops.

That’s how Martha Stewart ended up in prison. Now she’s hangin’ out with Snoop Dawg ...
